Max taught Science in mainstream comprehensive schools in London for 21 years, followed by 19 years working with pupils with physical disabilities (PD) and medical conditions, most recently as an assistant headteacher and Kent County lead for an advisory team for PD. He retired in 2018. Max also worked with Canterbury Christchurch and Greenwich Universities on their PGCE and BA teacher training programmes, running SEND-based workshops and hosting day visits at a special school for student teachers. Max is currently a governor at two mainstream primary schools, and he attends and contributes to various All Party Parliamentary Groups focussing on Disability and Education. Max is passionately committed to the principles and practice of full academic and social inclusion for all. Born in Liverpool, he is also an amateur musician and performance poet and lives in Bromley.
