Staff Profiles

Debbie joined IMAT in September 2023 as the Trust Reading Lead. With over 18 years of teaching experience, including six years as a successful Assistant Headteacher, she has a keen interest in raising standards and enhancing the learning experience for all pupils. She has worked across the Primary age range and beyond, in both state and private sectors, taking a lead role in curriculum redesign, phonics, literacy, and reading. Debbie's commitment to improving literacy led her to obtain her Level 5 in ‘Learners with Dyslexia, Specific Learning Differences, and Barriers to Literacy’, equipping her with specialised knowledge and strategies to address the individual needs of pupils. She has since further strengthened her expertise by achieving her CCET (Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing) qualification, along with her ‘Diagnosing Dyslexia: Assessment Practice and Reporting’ qualification. Additionally, she has completed the Leadership Pathways course with the NCSL. Debbie works collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to further enhance learning experiences and opportunities for all pupils.
